My experience is a bit different. My P-III 866MHz 512MB RAM FC3
computer boots up a hell of a lot faster than my P-IV 3MHz 512MB RAM
Windows XP laptop. At work, the situation is even worse; I simply leave
my Win2K work computer on all the time because I simply don't want to
wait each morning for the damn thing to start up.
