i have done xp fc3 dual boot 4 times in the last week

install xp
use partition magic to make space at the end of the drive
use partition magic to format the space ext2
boot from the fc3 disk1
install grub boot loader into the mbr (master boot record)
select automatic linux partition install into the preprepared partition
it works very smoothly, enjoy
