CD won't play music

Hey gurus,

  I just installed Fedora Core 3 on my computer.  It has a Samsung CD-R which was used to install Fedora so I am pretty sure that it works and a LITE-ON CR-RW.  When I place an audio CD in either one I get a Drive Error message when the default CD Player starts.  When I use grip, it says drive empty.  Any ideas what is going on?
