Windows/Linux LAN Issue

Sorry - I don't understand the request/suggestion.

Guessing . . .
The 'test' file was an Open Office WP document.
At this point, I don't even understand what the samba
folder is or does beyond the fact that it is some sort of
universal share folder. Somewhere! I presume on the
Linux PC.

I saved the file there, thinking I could open/access it from
the W2KPro PC. But as the W2KPro PC could not
even 'see' the Linux machine on the Windoze network,
the effort was a waste of time.

I hope that makes some sense, because I'm not sure that
I'm making any sense, at all!
