I have a problem with key bindings.

I upgraded from Red Hat 9 to Core 3. The odd thing is that while I am
editing an entry in jpilot, I hit ^A to go to the beginning of the line like I
always did. Now it brings up some selection dialogue. In general, lots of
things (besides jpilot) that used to allow emacs control chars for lineediting
now no longer work. This also includes Firefox.

I changed my .gtkrc from

include "/usr/share/themes/Bluecurve/gtk/gtkrc"
to
include "/usr/share/themes/Emacs/gtk-2.0-key/gtkrc"

but it didn't help. I also copied my .gtkrc to .gtkrc-2.0 but that didn't
help either.

Does anyone know about this or how to make it work again?

TIA
