[kernel - ieee1394] iPod mini with Insten Dock

iPod mini works connected over FireWire in FC3 no problemo.

Just bought an Insten dock, connected by firewire.
Does not work with iPod. Here is dmesg output:

Does anyone know where to begin to resolve this issue?
The iPod does charge when put on dock.
