RedirectMatch ^/webmail[/](.*)$ https://example.com/webmail/$1

My setup is a little different, but this may help. I have this rule in
my httpd.conf which redirects any visit to http://example.com/webmail or
webmail/ to my SSL HTTPS squirrelmail. Notice the [/] part which means
the slash is optional. This may not work so well to redirect to a
non-HTTPS webmail though, you may get stuck in a redirect loop.
