The search there isn't that great. A better option in my opinion is
Google; just search using

site:www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/  your search terms

The results will probably be a bit old, but works a lot better than the
mailman search function.

Alternatively, you can try searching

http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=fedora-list

or

http://fcp.homelinux.org/
