X server not restarting after Ctrl+Alt+Backspace

A problem I've had since I upgraded to FC3:

If I press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, I expect (based on behaviour on older 
releases) that the X session is ended and the login screen appears. 
However, it will now effectively terminate the whole GUI - i.e. the X 
server is killed but not restarted. Workaround: Text console login, then 
killall -TERM gdm-binary.

Has anyone else seen this?
