NFSv4 Bug?

Hi;

I use NFSv4 and have problems with some programms accessing the V4
shares. The symthom is that those apps simply hang on write. 

Configuration: 

2.6.11-1.14_FC3smp  (client + server)
server services :  nfs rpcidmap nfslock
client          :  rpcidmap

mnt options :
async,auto,exec,_netdev,nodev,rw,retry=5,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,proto=tcp,soft,intr

using vi on a file on the share ends in hanging vi. same with other apps
including ar etc. 

Since i need to use v4 (tunnel everthing through one port) - going back
to v3 is no option 4 me. Any ideas what could be wrong? any workaround
(s) ???
