access permission on mounted fat32 drive

try this 
mkdir /mnt/XP
/dev/sdb5              /mnt/files     vfat  users,rw,owner,umask=0000   0 0
mount -a 

Right click your desktop create a launcher and for the path point it
to you /mnt/XP
then drag the folder into your home dir
