Dactivate automount of USB devices in Gnome / Fedora Core 3

Hello all,

i want to setup a Fedora Core fileserver in the next days. In this setup the 
external attached USB devices should not automatically be mounted when i am 
logged in to Gnome.

Can i deactivate this at some place?

Is this managed with the standard automount utilities or with the 
gnome-vfs-daemon or something like that?

I don't know much about automounting or Gnome. Sorry for that!
