Playing DVDs using totem?

I'm sorry that it won't work for you.  This had been
an in issue for me and now thank god, it has gone
away.  Sometimes its the hardware that give problems.

By "most" I mean encrypted dvd's and standard dvd's. 
To make it work for "most" if not all, we use
libdvdcss2.  And that takes care of that problem.

Yes, MPlayer does not have DVD menu support, to get
that though we can still use MPlayer codecs for
xine-ui, kaffeine, or probably totem itself.  I have
kplayer installed as a frontend to MPlayer and type
dvd://1 and watch the movie, therefore avoiding the
previous and other stuff.
