Cannot bring up eth0 after kernel update.

My /etc/modprobe.conf:

After ifconfig eth0 up:

[root at ferrari ~]# ifconfig eth0 up
[root at ferrari ~]#

Yes I tried configuring via system-config-network, but everything looks
fine for a newbie like me ;-) 'eth0' is listed in 'Devices' but is set
'inactive', if you try to activate it ...

In 'Hardware' the right card name is listed. In 'DNS' the IP of my
router is typed in (not typed in by me, but it is the right one).

Do you think you can help?

I am trying to fix this for nice piece of time now, but nobody was able
to help. Maybe I should read some stuff about Linux/fedora's
hardware/module structure. Do you know any articles?
