Getting ATI Driver Fails

I cannot comment about the ATI drivers, but for the Nvidia ones I have found 
the RPM packages provided by Livna to be a very painless way of getting my 
card working - I just apt-get them and everything works fine.

They also do ATI, so might be worth trying.
