the php4* assumes he's running php version 4.
your instructions also assume that his *.so libs are in the specified dirs..
they might be somewhere else. if you have problems trying to run php apps,
you should search for the *.so files to makee sure that you have the right
versions/locations...
you should also do a quick php web app using 'phpinfo()' to check what the
apache/php configuration sees...

edit /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
and put those anwhere in the configuration file.
LoadModule php4_module modules/libphp4.so
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
DirectoryIndex index.ph
restart the httpd service
service httpd restart
