Sendmail host name lookup failure

have you tried sending the email using the server itself?
have you checked your IP from the spam house blocked list?

This is an "A" record lookup; you need to look for "MX" records:

$ dig yahoo.com mx

Still can't see anything wrong though.

Shouldn't be; I don't use nscd and sendmail works fine here.
