sendmail error

You accidentally change permissions of the Sendmail binary?

-rwxr-sr-x  1 root smmsp 732356 Sep  1  2004 /usr/sbin/sendmail.sendmail

Please too check the permissions as stated in
/usr/share/doc/sendmail/SECURITY.
