I've not (yet) observed utf8 being used for Chinese etc, so I'm not 
blocking it. I am blocking those that have been used. Nor do I block 
mail containing escaped non-roman character sets: I use the content-type 
header.

Not so.

The server isn't just for mail for this list; the filtering's done at 
SMTP time on postfix.
