Probably the same happened to me. Just because I had sun jvm isntalled 
before openoffice. Unfortunately I didnt look into 
javasettings_Linux_x86.xml before deleting it, so cannot tell the 
difference.

ok, I did what the instructions say. I'll be right back if it wont work.
