[OT] Mailman user configuration

Slightly off topic, but perhaps someones knows the answer to what should
be a fairly simple oversight.

I have Mailman up and running, and responding to subscription requests and
confirmations.  However, messages posted to the list are being dead end
delivered to the root account instead.

maiolloig outputs as follows:

Nov 27 16:25:08 mail2 spamd[3697]: info: setuid to root succeeded
Nov 27 16:25:08 mail2 spamd[3697]: Still running as root: user not
specified with -u, not found, or set to root.  Fall back to nobody.

Does anyone know where I've erred in the configuration?
