1. Is webmin running?

   # ps aux|grep miniserv  #if this doesn't return a process it isn't
                           #running - try /etc/webmin/start

2. Does localhost.localdomain resolve?

   # host localhost.localdomain # if this doesn't resolve, you fiddled
                                # with /etc/hosts and ignored their
                                # warning
