cursed nvidia fedora my lack of knowledgeness

I have not been usign Fedora as my main system lately (though I have it
installed in another partition), but I'm wondering if it is subject to the
same problems with the nvidia drivers as my setup.
It's xorg and with the latest nvidia drivers it always locks my X display
(everything else works except for the keyboard, so I can, for example, ssh
into the system and kill the X server and solve the lock-up until the next
time)

It does not happen to me with the nvidia drivers 1.0-6629

Do any of you get those same problems?

googling for it, that appear under many circumstances, but the best solution
for me was no use the older drivers.
