so you have cloned the entire root (/) filesystem on /mnt/sellaCone ?
okay, this might work (assuming everything is in place):
chroot /mnt/sellaCone
/sbin/grub-install /dev/hdc

if there is no /boot directory containing kernels and grub binaries this
will fail fairly horribly, however.
