I didn't see a post on the Fedora list about this, but I have seen it on
other forums/newsgroups.
Basically, running a yum update to the latest kernel (2.6.13-1.1526_FC4)
breaks booting on a drive attached to an LSI SCSI card. The boot error is
usually the generic one quite a few people have seen:
mkrootdev: label / not found
Mouting root file system
mount: error 2 mounting ext3
Switching to new root
ERROR opening /dev/console!!!: 2
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 0
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 1
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 2
unmounting old /proc
unmounting old /sys
switchroot: mount failed: 22
Kernel panic -not syncin: Attempted to kill init!
I'd rather not have to type out the entire explanation again. Just read
the following link. I'm "Ant":

Take care,
Tony
