Since it sounds like you are running a budget server, you should consider
using software raid. It will take some more CPU, but you probably have that
to spare. Cheap raid controllers don't buy you a whole lot. You can run
raid 1 or 10 using software raid and give up some space on the disks
compared to using raid 5.
