GNUCHESS help.

My installation notes tell me that the Fedora extras repository is
enabled by default which I take to mean that it is on my computer or on
the cd's I loaded it from ?.Gnuchess is included in the list of extra's
detailed also in these notes. But entering in root"yum install gnuchess"
only returns " Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: updates-released "
So where am I clanging please, Regards all,  Harry.
