all browsers mess up hotmail replies?

On fc4 I've tried opera, firefox, mozilla with hotmail. All 
show the mail correctly. But when I hit Reply To I get a 
whole bunch of html stuff. For instance, to pick a piece of 
spam:

From:  <i>"Chang Feng" 
<md_changfeng at msn.com></i><br>Subject: 
<i>Representative Offer</i><br>Date:  <i>Mon, 10 Oct 2005 
02:41:50 +0100</i><br>
<br>
<html><head>
<meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; 
charset=windows-1252">
<meta name=Generator content="Microsoft SafeHTML">

This classic spam shows correctly if I just view the 
message. I've messed around with my Message Reply options in 
  hotmail. No change.

Any suggestions.
