I would first suggest using k3b to create an image file.
Alternatively you can use dd to create the iso.
"dd if=/dev/cdrom of=filename.iso" would work but likely would be
faster if you added a "bs=16384" or similar option to speed the reading.
"dd bs=16384 if=/dev/cdrom of=filename.iso"
