fstab-sync wipes out /etc/fstab

This is as good a place as any to chime in. /etc/fstab is overwritten by 
fstab-config at boot time, so changing /etc/fstab is going to either 
1)interfere with the smooth workings of fstab-config and upstream 
resources or 2) be a waste of effort which doesn't survive a reboot. What 
is wanted is a decient way to achieve 3) have fstab-config manage fstab 
the way the system manager wants things managed without oddball hacks or 
work arounds.

It would be _really_ nice to find comprehensable documentation of 
fstab-config somewhere. Like how to fix it _my_ way...
