DVD doesn't mount, but writing works fine.

I'm not the only one with this problem.

I'm posting this stuff here in case someone else has the problem.  If
someone has a solution, I am listening. 

My setup:

Linux xxxx 2.6.12-1.1456_FC4smp #1 SMP Thu Sep 22 02:22:14 EDT 2005 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
