Tim,

I'll try that when I get home from the game tonight (NLCS Game 6 - GO
CARDINALS!!).

Last night I booted with the Rescue CD, copied everything in /dev to /dev1
(just in case), and ran "./MAKEDEV generic" in /dev.  The result booted to
the same panic.
