I get lots of error messages, but it appears to work anyway.

e.g. As another user SSHing into another box, I get the following:

[andrew at server ~]$ es menu class init

The directories were set up by Evolution itself, as a fresh install, and
the filepaths and filenames in that invalid root line do exist. It
sounds like Evolution isn't doing things properly and is relying on
something letting it get away with it.

If you mean things like windows appearing that are half off the
right-hand side or bottom of the screen, I get that too (however it's
been launched). Reply editor windows, GPG/certificate checking windows,
etc. Likewise for the main window opening up bigger than the current
screen size if I were on a 800x600 screen mode (on a system that's been
that way from the start, not one where I'm using a reduced resolution).
