installing fedora core 4

hi
    i already have windows 2000...i tried to install fedora core 4...but 
an error message came like this...
    "The partition table on device hda was unreadable.To create new 
partition it must be reinitialized"
     i have many mp3  songs and imp data in the hard disk...i dont wnat to 
lose any data...and also i dont want to repartition...is there any other 
way to overcome this error....please help me ...
