Sounds like a GNU Cash bug/problem? Have you googled it? A quick search on
google shows
http://www.mail-archive.com/gnucash-devel@lists.gnucash.org/msg00719.html as
a possible source. You may want to try the GNU Develers list at
gnucash-devel at lists.gnucash.org.
