Wireless network does not start at bootup

I'd look at the order in which services start
(in /etc/rc.d/init.t/).
Perhaps something has to be done to enable the card,
and this happens after the network service starts.
(I think this would be logged in /var/log/dmesg .)
If that is the reason, you could change the order,
or as a second-best you could put "service network restart"
in /etc/rc.d/rc.local .
