I have an FC4 system here.  And there surely is the section that Craig
quoted in the smb.conf manpage.  It is also referenced in the samba
manpage (3 times, actually).

If you don't have this, you might want to use rpm to verify that there
isn't something wrong with your system.  The smb.conf manpage is
located at /usr/share/man/man5/smb.conf.5.gz and is part of the
samba-common package.

rpm -Vf /usr/share/man/man5/smb.conf.5.gz will tell you which, if any,
files from the samba-common package have been modified.
