Problem Installing Core 5

So, I am a new user. I am attempting to install core 5. The problem I am running into is that after it probes my video and then starts X Windows for installation I get an X and the system locks up. It does not go any farther. I am running dual opteron 246 with 4 gig ram on an Supermicro H8DCE drive. Any help would be appreciated.
