ATI on FC5

I had the same problem. Try playing with aticonfig and follow the examples.
I had something like:

aticonfig --initial=dual-head --screen-layout=horizontal 
--dtop=horizontal --overlay-on=0 --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf
