FC5 on toshiba

Dear All
when booting, the system does not give any error message. it simply blocks.
I just want to ask you, if there is something that I can do to solve this
problem: shall verify something, can I modify something using the SINGLE
mode. 
My knowleges in hardware are not veryt good.

IIRC, it's on the i945 chipset. I know FC5 is happy on i845 and 865
chipsets.

What error messages is it throwing up?
