This probably has nothing to do with your DSL modem problem, but if
you're not using Bluetooth, turn off hcid (and all other Bluetooth
stuff).

# service bluetooth stop
# chkconfig hcid off
# chkconfig hidd off
# chkconfig bluetooth off
