Wrong order and usage of parameters. The string after -O defines the local
filename and the path is cut off. You're trying to specify a directory to
store the downloaded file, which doesn't work (according to the manpage).
Try
( cd /archive/downloads/FC5/dvd-iso/; curl -q -u anonymous:rwhart at mchsi.com ftp://limestone.uoregon.edu/fedora/5/i386/iso/FC-5-i386-rescuecd.iso )
