What's the output of:

$ fgrep '[core]' /etc/yum.conf /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo

Definite name service issues there.

That looks OK though.

What about:

$ cat /etc/resolv.conf

$ dig download.fedora.redhat.com +trace

You might also try:

# service nscd condrestart
