$ fdisk -lu /dev/hda | grep NTFS 
will not work as regular user you need to
[olivares at localhost ~]$ su -
Password:
su: incorrect password
[olivares at localhost ~]$ su -
Password:
and you will get something like
[root at localhost ~]#
now type same command and it should work.
