Need help installing eth1 -

Can someone point me in the right direction to find a procedure for 
installing a second ethernet card in this FC-5 system?
The first one I installed several years ago and I don't recall any 
problem doing so.  Now I need a second port to connect a "wireless 
bridge" and I can't seem to get the needed port installed correctly.  
One problem is that with "system-config-network" it keeps coming up as 
dev28753 instead of the expected eth1.

lspci reports:

for eth0:
00:0f.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado] 
(rev 6c)

New card, should be eth1:
00:10.0 Ethernet controller: Linksys NC100 Network Everywhere Fast 
Ethernet 10/100 (rev 11)
