If there's a problem with install files, the installation should bomb
out anyway (you shouldn't end up installing a broken system).  The media
check should just make it quicker to find out whether the installation
is going to work, or not.

Probably, a better thing to check when you've downloaded ISOs to make a
disc, is to checksum those files, first.  If they're fine, you've got
various options to get an install running.  If they're not fine, then
you've got other problems to resolve before even worrying about
installing.
