turning on the wireless card

Well, it would have been nice if that had worked. It didn't. Have run
all the tests in setting up the hardware - everything seems fine. But I
keep getting:
"Determining IP information for eth1... failed; no link present. Check
cable?"
Any other ideas? Anyone?
