ati xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-8.26.18-1.lvn5 no tv?

   Hello all,
            I just tried to watch a DVD on TV from my Dell ATI laptop,
and I was no longer able to switch output on the fly.  I guess it is
connected with the new ATI driver,
xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-8.26.18-1.lvn5 
When I type:
 aticonfig --enable-monitor=lvds,tv
Which worked nicely with the previous version I get
ati_dm: FGLRX_EnableDisplays failed when try to enable display: 6.

I needed to re-boot (maybe I should have tried restarting X) to connect
to the TV.
   Did anyone else encounter this - and work out how to fix it?
