Volume Group creation

Hi folks,

I tried to create a VG (Volume Group) with;

# vgcreate VG /dev/hda2
it always complained 'No physical volume lable read from /dev/hda2'

Whether tab /dev/hda2 with '8e' will be the solution, by running;

# fdisk /dev/hda
....
.....
Command (m for help): t
Partition number (1-4): 2
Hex code (type L to list codes): 8e

Please advise. TIA
