Oh, too young huh?  :-)

In the first Star Trek movie (STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE) the plot
line is often described as:

The crew of the starship Enterprise reunites to save Earth from VGER --
an alien probe that has its origins in Earth's own past.

It turns out that "VGER" is actually the "Voyager 1" spacecraft launched
ages ago from earth.
